Zero-Interest Gap Financing for Qualifying Altadena Homeowners
Updated: 9 hours ago

A new resource for Altadena homeowners facing a gap between available rebuilding funds and the cost of rebuilding.
For many Altadena homeowners, one of the biggest obstacles to moving forward is finding enough rebuild financing to cover the difference between available recovery funds and the actual cost of construction. Insurance proceeds and other recovery resources may not cover the full cost of rebuilding a home.
We are excited to share that Remington Rebuilds is now a participating builder in the Altadena Land Initiatives (ALI) Builder Network, giving qualifying homeowners working with Remington access to another potential resource as they determine how to fund their rebuild.

What is Altadena Land Initiatives?
Altadena Land Initiatives is a nonprofit organization created to help Eaton Fire-affected homeowners rebuild and remain in the Altadena community.
Through its Gap Rebuild Program, ALI coordinates zero-interest gap financing for eligible homeowners whose available insurance proceeds and other resources fall short of the cost of rebuilding. The program combines financing with a network of participating builders and coordinated rebuild support.
The goal is straightforward: help more Altadena families find a workable path back home without relying on traditional high-interest construction debt.
How the Gap Rebuild Program Works
For qualifying homeowners, the program is designed to help cover the difference between the funds already available for a rebuild and the actual cost of construction.
Current program features include:
Zero-interest financing — the amount borrowed is the amount repaid.
No monthly payments during rebuilding and recovery.
Repayment tied to future recovery funds, such as legal settlement proceeds, or upon the future sale or refinancing of the property, according to the terms of the loan.
A network of participating builders that homeowners can choose from for their rebuild.
Loans are issued through a designated lending partner, and eligibility is determined individually. ALI notes that funding availability, eligibility requirements and loan terms can vary based on the funding source supporting each loan.

Why the Builder Network Matters
Participation in the Gap Rebuild Program currently requires homeowners to rebuild with an ALI Network Builder.
ALI reviews participating builders based on factors including construction experience, capacity, rebuild approach, cost efficiency and the ability to manage coordinated rebuilding projects. Homeowners still choose their own builder from the network and contract directly with that builder.
For Remington Rebuilds, becoming part of the network means homeowners considering one of our rebuild homes can now explore whether the ALI program may be another option for helping close their individual funding gap.

What This Means for Remington Rebuilds Homeowners
Our approach to rebuilding has always been centered on giving homeowners clearer information about their lot, home options, pricing and the steps required to move forward.
Remington Rebuilds offers pre-designed homes created for Altadena lots, fixed starting pricing, ADU options and a structured process from early planning and permitting through construction and warranty. Our homes currently start at $595,050, with a range of one- and two-story plans and ADU options.
For qualifying homeowners, the ALI Gap Rebuild Program adds another meaningful resource that could help make the path to rebuilding more achievable.
It does not mean every homeowner will qualify, and every rebuilding situation is different. But for families trying to bridge the gap between the resources they have and the cost of rebuilding, the ALI program offers a promising option that could help make rebuilding possible.
Not Sure If the Program Could Apply to You?
ALI offers a preliminary eligibility assessment for Eaton Fire-affected homeowners. Eligibility considers a number of factors, including homeowner occupancy, plans to return to the property as a primary residence, available recovery resources and use of a participating ALI Network Builder.
If you are considering rebuilding with Remington Rebuilds, we can also talk through your home options, lot, budget and next steps and help you understand how the ALI program may fit into the larger rebuilding process.
